Attorney's Fees
Like most family law attorneys, I charge by the hour plus any expenses. My hourly rate is $300. I request a retainer fee which is paid in advance and placed into a client trust account. As I work on the case I pay myself from the trust account. I provide regular statements of work performed and request payment on the statement, so that the trust account is filled back up. Any monies left in the trust account at the conclusion of services is returned to the client.
Retainer fees vary depending on the facts of the case, but here are some examples: $4000 for a divorce, $2500 to request temporary orders or modify orders. A smaller retainer fee is requested for limited scope where the attorney is hired for piecemeal services such as to draft documents or provide legal advice.
